Rofine Stockholm works between Stockholm and the Costa del Sol. Most of our clients are Scandinavian, Dutch, German and British owners who have bought a home here and cannot stand on site every week. We plan the house the Northern European way, then run the work locally and report back in a language you actually think in.
Why the language matters more than people expect
A renovation abroad goes wrong in the gaps: a material approved in one language, ordered in another, installed by a team who read a third version of the plan. Every gap costs time and money, and you only find out on site.
We close those gaps by holding both ends. You discuss the house in English, Swedish or Spanish. We speak to the trades in Spanish, on drawings we produced ourselves, so what you approved is what gets built.
What Scandinavian actually means here
It is a method before it is a look. Measure the house properly. Plan circulation, light and storage before choosing anything. Specify fewer materials, of better quality, and use them consistently. Order nothing before it is drawn.
The result on this coast is not a pale Nordic interior transplanted south. Marbella and Fuengirola light is strong and the house is lived in outdoors, so we work in warm stone, oak, lime plaster and linen, and plan sightlines towards terrace, garden and sea.
Built for owners who are not in Spain
You are sent decisions in batches, with drawings and physical samples, instead of a stream of single questions at odd hours. Progress is reported with photographs on an agreed rhythm.
One person stays with your project from the first drawing to installation day, so you never re-explain the house to someone new.

First conversation
Usually a video call with your floor plan on screen, in English or Swedish, to understand the house and how you want to use it.
Site visit and survey
We measure the property properly and read the plan: light through the day, wasted circulation, missing storage.
Concept and drawings
Layouts, materials, lighting plans and renders of the key rooms, presented in batches for approval.
Tender and programme
Contractors are tendered and appointed on our drawings, and the programme is agreed before anything starts.
Site supervision and reporting
We attend site, check work against the drawings, and report progress with photographs in your language.
Installation and handover
Furniture, joinery and lighting delivered, installed and styled, so the house is finished the day you arrive.

Questions fréquentes
- Can we run the whole project in Swedish?
- Yes. Drawings, decisions, budget conversations and site reports can be handled in Swedish, while we deal with the Spanish trades in Spanish. English works the same way.
- We are Dutch / German. Which language will we work in?
- English, and we keep it plain rather than full of construction terminology. Anything sent to a contractor is translated into Spanish by us, so nothing is lost between the drawing and the site.
- Does Scandinavian design work in a Spanish house?
- The planning discipline does — measured drawings, honest materials, storage designed in. The palette we use here is warmer than a Stockholm apartment because the light is stronger and life happens on the terrace.
- Who do you usually work for?
- Owners from Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK who have bought or are buying on the coast and cannot be present for the works.
- Do you visit us at home before we come to Spain?
- Most first conversations happen by video call with the floor plan on screen. Tell us where you are based and how you want to meet, and we will fit around it.
