Get involved before handover
If the developer allows changes, review electrical points, lighting, kitchen details and finishes before completion. Early changes are usually cleaner than reopening finished work.

Use joinery selectively
Built-in storage, media units and carefully detailed wardrobes can make a compact plan calmer. Not every wall needs cabinetry; preserve openness and sightlines.

Plan the terrace at the same time
Furniture heights, shade, lighting and weather-resistant materials should continue the interior rather than create a separate visual language.
