Interior design across the Costa del Sol
The coast is not one market. A Sotogrande house, a Benahavís hillside villa and a Fuengirola apartment ask different questions of a plan — of shade, privacy, storage and how the outside is used. This page explains how the studio works across those settings, and what stays the same wherever the property is.
One studio, the whole chain
Whatever the location, the commission covers the same ground: measured survey and revised plans, lighting and joinery design, material specification, contractor tendering and supervision, procurement, delivery and installation.
The advantage of keeping it in one place is accountability — there is no gap between the drawing and the person on site checking that it was built that way.
How the coast differs, area by area
West of Marbella — Estepona, Benahavís, Sotogrande — plots are larger and projects are more often full renovations or new-build fit-outs, with longer programmes and more contractor coordination.
Around Marbella itself, work is split between apartment re-plans and villa renovations, where services, bathrooms and the link between house and garden usually do the most work.
East towards El Higuerón, Fuengirola and Benalmádena, most properties are recent construction, so the value is in editing the developer specification rather than rebuilding.
Designed for strong light
Coastal light is unforgiving. We choose surfaces that hold up to it — lime plaster, honed stone, solid timber, linen — and plan lighting in layers so a room that is bright at noon is still comfortable at ten in the evening.
Shade, cross-ventilation and where the sun lands in each season are part of the plan, not an afterthought.

- How far along the coast do you work?
- From Sotogrande in the west to Málaga in the east, with most projects between Estepona and Fuengirola.
- Do you charge for travel between locations?
- Site visits within the areas listed on this page are included in the project fee. Anything further is agreed in writing before it is incurred.
- Can you take on a single room?
- Yes, provided it is a room where a considered plan makes a difference — a kitchen, a main bedroom suite, a terrace. We will say so if we think the budget is better spent elsewhere.
- What does a project usually take?
- It depends entirely on scope and permitting. Furnishing and styling a completed property is a matter of weeks to a few months; a full renovation is considerably longer. We give an indicative programme with the first proposal.
